>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>HEALTH EFFECTS<br \/>ACUTE:<br \/>Chlorpyrifos-Methyl is an organo-phosphate insecticide and will inhibit<br \/>cholinesterase. Symptoms of overexposure to the active constituent may<br \/>include headaches, dizziness, incoorodination, muscle twitching, tremors,<br \/>nausea, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, sweating, constrictive pupils, blurred<br \/>vision, salivation, tightness of the chest, excessive urination and convulsions.<br \/>2<br \/>SWALLOWED:<br \/>The acute oral toxicity of the active constituent is high with reported<br \/>LD measurements for the active 115 mg\/Kg.<br \/>Injury or death may occur from the ingestion of the concentrate.<br \/>If the concentrate enters the lungs, lung damage may occur due to chemical pneumonia caused by the solvents.<br \/>EYES: Will cause temporary, moderate eye irritation.<br \/>SKIN:<br \/>The acute dermal toxicity is low but prolonged contact may result in<br \/>absorption of harmful amounts.<br \/>The product may cause some skin irritation after prolonged contact and will irritate broken skin.<br \/>Repeated exposure may cause allergic disorders.<br \/>INHALED:<br \/>The acute inhalation toxicity is moderate and excessive exposure to<br \/>Spray mist may be harmful.<br \/>Prolonged exposure to the solvent vapor from the concentrate may cause eye and respiratory tract irritation, headaches, dizziness and narcotic effects.<br \/>CHRONIC:<br \/>Rats and mice which were administered the active ingredient in long term studies showed no increase in tumors compared to the control.<br \/>A study in rats and rabbits indicates that the active constituent does not cause birth defects or interfere with reproduction.<br \/>There is no known evidence of genetic change or accumulation of the active constituent in the body<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wd-tab-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div >\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>A Poisons Information Centre or a Doctor should be consulted in every case of suspected chemical poisoning.<br \/>Never give fluids or induce vomiting if a patient is unconscious or convulsing.<br \/>SWALLOWED:<br \/>If swallowed, induce vomiting preferably using Ipecac Syrup APF.<br \/>Give one atropine tablet every five minutes until dryness of the<br \/>mouth occurs. Get to a doctor or hospital quickly.<br \/>EYES:<br \/>If in eyes, hold eyes open and flood with water for at least 15<br \/>minutes and see a Doctor.<br \/>3<br \/>SKIN:<br \/>Remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly with soap<br \/>and water for at least fifteen minutes. If symptoms of poisoning<br \/>occur, give atropine tablets as above and get to a Doctor or hospital<br \/>quickly.<br \/>INHALED:<br \/>Remove from contaminated area to fresh air.
